The legacy of our business begins with Late Shri Atkere Lakshman Anantha Pai, reverently remembered as "ANNADATTA" of our AASP Group. A man of discipline, integrity, devotion, and selfless service and a gold loving person. He was a native of Atkere, originally a farmer by livelihood, and blessed with a large family, he took upon himself the responsibility of providing for them through honest work. He later migrated to Koteshwara, laying the earliest foundation of an enterprise on a premise blessed with Tirupathi Balaji under the name M/S Srinivas Laxman Ananth Pai and sons.

His values became the moral backbone of the household and shaped generations to come. Guided by this foundation, his sons, Shri Atkere Srinivas Lakshman Pai and Atkere Govindarai Laxman Pai, joined him in supporting the family business.Atkere Govindarai Laxman Pai later on pursued the Rice mill Family business and the enterprise was soley taken care by Shri Atkere Srinivas Lakshman Pai. After the demise ofLate Shri Atkere Lakshman Anantha Pai, the responsibility of the store was carried forward by the family with the same discipline and commitment he stood for. From this lineage emerged Shri Atkere Anantha Srinivas Pai, fondly known as the "JANMADATTA" of our AASP Group.

Driven by conviction rather than comfort, Shri Atkere Anantha Srinivas Pai made the courageous decision to pursue his own vision and establish a business independent of his father's enterprise. On 19 December 1977, he began his journey as a wholesaler under the name M/S Atkere Anantha Srinivas Pai and Son, started on a family property in a modest 800 sq. ft. space. Witout any working capital, not even any cash to begin dealings and borrowed funds from his close frinds and relatives. What sustained the venture was the unwavering support of his wifeSmt. Padmavathi A. Pai, along with family and friends, and a disciplined credit-based approach built purely on trust and timely commitment.

Through honest dealings, consistent repayments, and growing confidence among the public and trade, the business steadily evolved from wholesale into retail.This was followed by the launching of a retail outlet under the name, MAHAMAYA STORES, which was formally opened on 08 December 1989. The original outlet was later entrusted to Shri Atkere Ravindranath Pai following his graduation, marking a structured expansion of responsibilities.

Growth had created severe space constraints, with stock occupying every available corner, even within the family home. With continued blessings and support of our retailers and, the inauguration for the buildingMAHAMAYA took place with the blessings of H H Shri Shri Sudheendra Tirtha Swamiji of Kashi mutt Samsthan Benaras on 02 February 1990.

26 May 1994, the sister concern Shri Nagesh Trading was established in the adjacent building Shri Laxminarayana with the blessings of H H Shri Shri Sudheendra Tirtha Swamiji of Kashi mutt Samsthan Benaras to strengthen wholesale operations and expand market reach. Later that same year, on10 November 1994, the family faced an irreplaceable loss with the passing of Shri Atkere Anantha Srinivas Pai, the founder and central pillar of our whole enterprise.

With his demise, the entire responsibility of the business came upon the shoulders ofShri Atkere Ramachandra Pai andShri Atkere Vishwanath Pai, who chose unity, perseverance, and hard work to carry the legacy forward. In 1996, the organisation emerged as a pioneer in the undivided province of Dakshina Kannada by adopting computerised billing systems, digital data storage, later enhanced with SMS-based order confirmations, and full Tally accounting integration and later by Marg Sotware, setting new benchmarks for operational discipline and transparency.

To support growing scale and logistics, a dedicated warehouse namedANANTHRAM was inaugurated on 05 July 2010 with the blessings of H H Shri Shri Samyamendra Tirtha Swamiji. Later, another warehouse, was innagurated under the nameANANTHA LAXMAN, on 07 July 2022 to strengthen the expanding business.

The sad demise of Shri Atkere Ramachandra Anantha Pai on 16 October 2022 at the age of 58, who played a significant role in establishing strength and growth in our enterprise along with his FatherShri Atkere Ananth Srinivas Pai and his brothers.

Today, under leadership ofShri Atkere Vishwanath Ananth Pai (BBM), the organisation continues to be guided by experience, discipline, and values rooted in decades of trust and coustomers across Karnataka and supplies from almost all parts of india. With the young third generation — Shri Atkere Nagesh Ramachandra Pai (B.E.) andShri Atkere Ananth Ramachandra Pai (BBA) — serving as working partners, the business balances legacy with modern thinking, combining time-tested principles with contemporary systems and processes.

Supported by a loyal and experienced workforce, a disciplined and timely delivery network, strong supplier partnerships, and long-standing customer relationships, the organisation offers wide product variety with reliable all-in-one and bulk sourcing capabilities. With operational strength, steady growth, and an unwavering commitment to trust, the business continues its journey with stability and confidence, moving steadily toward celebrating 50 years of legacy in 2027.
